In the framework of the commemoration of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, Kateri Mission A.C. reaffirms its commitment to promoting knowledge and dissemination of the spirituality and culture of these social groups.

The president of our association, Miguel Epifanio Campoy Burboa, mentioned that the courses of actions that inspire us are based on the arduous work of Father David Beaumont, OFM Cap. through his total dedication and love for indigenous peoples, particularly those who inhabit the region of Sonora, in northwestern Mexico.

He commented that Misión Kateri is composed of indigenous community leaders, anthropologists, communication experts, and a group of volunteers willing to strengthen and spread this great missionary work, and to promote actions that improve the living conditions of these peoples.

Campoy Burboa explained that today, more than ever, these communities face challenges and complex situations. Therefore, we must work together as a society to recognize their rights, the freedom to make decisions regarding the use of their territory, and the opportunity to access health services, education, and justice, among many others.
